Building Update 12 – 14th October 2015

We are delighted to announce that at the Islington Council Planning Meeting on 13 October, councilors approved the design proposal for a new school building for Whitehall Park School, on the former Ashmount School site.

With this approval, work will begin on demolishing the old school over the winter, with construction of the new building expected to start in Spring 2016.Β  The whole build programme is expected to be completed for pupils to start the new term in September 2016 in state-of-the-art facilities.Β Β Β

Chair of Bellevue Place Education Trust, Claire Delaney said β€œThis is a significant development for Whitehall Park School, which opened in September 2014 and is currently oversubscribed. Β Β Β Β We are delighted that planning has been granted”.

We were overwhelmed with the numbers of friends, family members and neighbours who came along to the committee meeting to show their support.Β  It was a truly momentous occasion for us all and marks the beginning of the next chapter of Whitehall Park School.Β  We are very much looking forward to having our state of the art new facilities and cannot wait to open our building next year.Β Β  Β
