Summer 2016 – Half term home learning
Sarah-Jane (SJ) has organised a very special task for the children of Whitehall Park. She has been volunteering her time each week to support Year 1 children in writing the middle and end of their very own short stories using story cubes and props as a stimulus for writing. These short stories will be published in a book alongside illustrations by the Reception children. The home learning over half term will be to edit and improve the story for Year 1 children. Please keep this strictly to one page only for short stories.
Children in Reception have been asked to draw the story characters for the Reception children.
In addition to this we are holding a Year 1 front cover competition. Children can design, draw and colour their own front covers for the ‘Adventures in the Amazon’ short stories book and the winner will have their front cover published with the book for everyone to buy! Please remember to include this title and ‘by Whitehall Park School’
Please remember that all stories, illustrations and front cover entries must be returned to school on Monday 6th June in order for them to be published in time for the Summer Fete on Saturday 18th June.
